The Freud museum

We used to conduct those guided phantasy exercises that unearthed and explored material (‘buried treasure’) from the unconscious. The items that will appear on these pages – letters, papers, photographs, mementos, artefacts – seem to suggest material for making the unconscious conscious; in short, they seem perfectly suited for a Freud museum.  And anyway, I’ve always loved the idea of making works for a Freud museum.

This is a work in progress.

Footnote: A number of writers and artists have provided a context and background to the work that will appear here on the ‘underground pages’ – (the pages that are numbered below). Among them are Susan Sontag, Joseph Cornell and the young woman who introduced me to the idea of ‘disordered interior geometrics’.
